Job Summary:
Are you currently pursuing a degree in a scientific field and looking to gain hands-on industry experience? Vectura is offering an exciting placement opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic student to join our Pharmaceutical Development team. This position will give you the chance to contribute to ongoing research projects, develop technical skills, and complete a piece of research that can serve as your dissertation while respecting Intellectual Property (IP) constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform standard laboratory and experimental procedures, contributing to Vectura’s research objectives as agreed with your line manager.
Deliver a research project that meets both academic standards for your dissertation and aligns with Vectura's business needs.
Accurately record all experimental work, ensuring thorough data checking, formatting results into graphs or tables for reports and presentations.
Support the development and validation of methods or processes, assisting in continuous improvement activities for labs, equipment, and workflows.
Assist in drafting and reviewing laboratory procedures, protocols, and reports, ensuring compliance with Vectura’s Quality System.
Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health & Safety (H&S) procedures, and role-specific training requirements.
Communicate effectively with team members, being open to feedback and contributing to collaborative problem-solving.
Work within clearly defined standard operating procedures under close supervision, developing technical and analytical skills as you progress.
What We're Looking For:
Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field).
Enthusiasm for laboratory-based work with a basic understanding of analytical and technical processes.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy in executing tasks.
Ability to work well under supervision and collaborate effectively with team members.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques is a plus but not essential – full training will be provided.
